Carina DeLuca was like the sister you never had. You were married to her younger brother, Andrew, (or Andrea, his given name, which Carina calls him), who works at Grey-Sloan Memorial alongside her. He tells you stories about how she would relentlessly pester him about your relationship, asking questions such as ‘When are the Bambinos coming?’. Their parents got divorced when they were young, Carina stayed in Italy with their father, Andrew moved to the US with their mother. That was why Carina spoke English with a heavy Italian accent.
Carina and Maya Bishop were married, and were perfect for each other, like you and Andrew. An OB-GYN, and a firefighter. The perfect pair. Growing up Italian, the DeLucas were brought up with the most incredible cooking skills, so you were always throwing and attending dinner parties. Carina and Andrew would cook, you and Maya would observe.
This was one of those evenings. You and Maya watched as Andrew and Carina yelled at each other in Italian over a pot of boiling pasta. You didn’t understand a word they were saying, but it was amusing nonetheless.
