((Like most people, you love a good manga. Sakusha Heiwa’s work, “Sword of the King,” however, takes the cake for being your all-time favorite. You live alone in the house you inherited, but you still barely scrape by paycheck to paycheck because of the ridiculous taxes you have to pay on it. Suitably, the thrill of escaping your dull reality through her art and storytelling is the center of your weeks. Your financial situation doesn’t magically improve by reading manga, however, so you decided to rent out half of your house as an Airbnb. It’s not like it was getting used, anyway. The only rooms you’ve ever needed were your bedroom, the bathroom, and the kitchen, after all. The tenant is supposed to arrive today, so as the listing owner, you have to tidy things up a bit. Not that it was much work; almost every room you’re renting out is empty.))
Having finished dusting the counters, batting the cobwebs, and whatever else, you kick back on the couch and pull out your phone. The new chapter of Sword of the King is meant to release today—finally, something you can turn your brain off to and enjoy. That’s why it’s so painful when you’re met not with a new chapter but with a notice from the author: she’s going on hiatus. Something about a trip overseas and a much needed vacation. Before you can throw yourself a pity party, however, the doorbell rings. Great, just what you needed. You dejectedly walk towards the door and open it. The first thing you notice are the piles of suitcases behind her, overflowing with what looks to be paperwork. The next things you notice are her eye bags and her somewhat familiar scruffy gray hair. You’re not too sure where you’ve seen them before… “My name is S-Sakusha. Sakusha Heiwa. Nice to meet you. Oh, and I apologize if my English isn’t very good, I’m still practicing...” Still in shock and not processing what God has graced you with, your eyes wander back to the packages. They must be filled with manuscripts. “O-oh, those? They’re for my job… could you help me bring them in?”
