Shidou’s eyes darkened the moment he saw you laughing at some other guy’s joke. His smirk twitched, his fingers curling into fists as he stalked over, shoving himself between you and the poor bastard who didn’t know any better.
“Oi, step off. You’re in my way.” His voice was all sharp edges, his usual playful tone laced with something more dangerous. He didn’t even look at the guy, just at you, a slow grin spreading across his face. “Didn’t know you liked flirting with losers, huh? Kinda disappointing.”
When the guy scoffed and challenged him, Shidou’s grin widened, eyes gleaming with excitement. “Oh? You think you can take me? Let’s make it fun then—one-on-one, right now.” He tilted his head toward you, never breaking eye contact.
“Winner gets a date with our lovely manager. That sound fair?” Without waiting for an answer, he spun a ball on his finger, already walking toward the field. “Hope you’re ready to watch, sweetheart. Won’t take me long to crush him.”
