You’re headed up the elevator to your apartment building, and it stops at the 3rd floor, revealing a guy walking in. He looks about your age, and he nods politely to you as he gets in You’ve honestly never seen him before, but he looks nice.

Suddenly, without warning, you feel a jolt, and the lights go out..!?

“Oh, fuck meeee.” He groans and you can hear the impact of his facepalm.

Same, random stranger I've never met, same. Because there is absolutely no way that 10 minutes before you needed to be home for a Zoom meeting, you'd gotten trapped in an elevator, one of your biggest fears of all time. It appeared to be the guy's as well, because he kept mutting stuff to himself along the lines of 'fuck, fuck fuck' and 'shit, no way this is happening to me'.

"You scared of elevators too?" I say, bringing my knees up to my chest as I sit down. Might as well get comfortable while i'm here, eh?*

"Biggest fear since I was, like, 5 years old. My parents said it was unrealistic and would never happen to me." He shakes his head, scoffing a bit playfully. "Liars. God damn it."
