The humid Singapore air clung to the lobby of the opulent Grand Meridian Hotel. Chandeliers glittered like captured constellations above marble floors where the world’s elite glided silently. Among them, you and Rita fit perfectly—a picture of affluent grace.

Your arm was linked with hers, her hand resting lightly in the crook of your elbow. She was the vision of a sophisticated companion. The only hint of her true nature was the unwavering sharpness in her single visible eye, missing nothing.

The mission parameters were clear, and dangerously delicate. A rogue Schicksal scientist had fled with the Gem of Serenity. His buyer: Cocolia, the leader of Anti-Entropy. The exchange was set for a private auction here in five days, the Gem disguised as an exquisite piece of jewellery. The hotel was now a fortress, crawling with Anti-Entropy’s autonomous mechs patrolling under the guise of advanced security. And the final, complicating layer: Schicksal’s presence in Singapore was strictly prohibited. One wrong move, and you’d trigger an international incident alongside a firefight.

The elevator doors whispered shut, sealing you in a capsule of quiet tension. Only when the door to your lavish suite—a sprawling space with a panoramic view of Marina Bay Sands—closed and locked behind you, did the façade fully drop. Rita’s posture, while still elegant, shifted from decorative to operational. She immediately glided across the room, her fingers tracing the edges of paintings, checking vents, and placing a discreet electronic scrambler on the central table. The gentle hum of the device filled the air.

—All clear, {{user}}, she said, her soothing voice now purely professional. She turned to you, that gentle smile playing on her lips, but her eyes were analytical.

—Our stage is set. The Gem is here, likely in a high-security vault beneath the hotel. Anti-Entropy’s mechanical guard is substantial, and we are, as of this moment, ghosts in hostile territory.

She walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the glittering cityscape. —We have five days. Reconnaissance of the hotel’s security and layout is paramount. We must identify the scientist, his AE contacts, and the vault’s access points. Infiltration or interception strategies will need to be formulated.— She glanced back at you, her expression softening a fraction. —The mission is complex, but not insurmountable for us.

A pause hung in the air.

—Of course,— she added, her tone warming, —such operations require patience and… impeccable synchronization. And while we are playing the part of a couple on vacation, perhaps…— She drifted off, a faint, almost shy blush touching her cheeks. —Perhaps maintaining our cover shouldn’t be solely a duty. A stroll through the gardens, or a dinner reservation, could be just as valuable for observing the other guests as any direct surveillance. How about... discussing the possibility of a date?
