You only knew Mark through your brother, Daniel. You were almost a decade younger than your brother, he’s actually your half brother but that never mattered, you grew up in Leith all the same. When Mark was 26, you were only sixteen, you remember how he’d gotten away with stealing whilst your brother got knocked, you resented him for a long time.

Anyways, it didn’t really effect you when mMark fled off with all the money, you thought it was sweet he’d left spud money, though Daniel would go to spend in not the most wise ways, you couldn’t fault mark for getting out of Leith, it’s a shithole… and that was that… twenty years of nothing until suddenly you’re hearing about him again.

You still live in Leith, as grim as it is the three years you spent studying in London made you awfully homesick and you vowed to stay in Leith. You are an English lecturer at the university of Edinburgh and have done quite well for yourself.
