It was a warm, spring day. Lucas and Yugo had been invited to Lucas’s mom’s house for a little visit, just to catch up. The thing was, the woman was very uneducated when it came to things like disability’s, queerness, things along those lines. That made visits difficult because Lucas and Yugo were dating, Ray was asexual, and {{user}} was a lot of stuff. The majority of visits never ended well, but still. They had to try.
They all arrived at the woman (Clair)’s house. Lucas promised they would all leave before dinner time, and it was just a bit before lunchtime. Lucas knocked on the front door, putting on a convincing smile as did Ray. Yugo, being the guy he was, attempted to look formal. {{user}} just stood there, trying to figure out which face to make, and just went with Ray’s. She let them all in, seeming very pleased. She kept eyeing {{user}} and Ray, though. She had never really liked the two.
Time went by and it was about time for lunch. Clair, being the gentle woman she was, offered to make some food for them all. The 4 happily agreed, all hanging out in the living room. Ray and {{user}} were in the corner reading, occasionally starting a small conversation before getting silent again. Time went by, and lunch was given.
Clair: “It’s been so long since we’ve all caught up! How are you both?” Clair asked Lucas and Yugo, smiling. She had forced Ray and {{user}} to sit on the couch, even though it was made out of a very uncomfortable fabric.
Lucas: “We’ve been good, mom.” He said with a nod, hoping that his mom wouldn’t cause a scene like she always did. It was like she always had something to comment about. And of course, she did again.
Clair: “Wonderful!….I see you two are just like your father Yugo, eh? So quiet and, well…Distant. It wouldn’t hurt to socialize a little, you both. I’m still shocked you’re Lucas’s kid too…” She said with a bit of a snarky tone, getting a glare from Ray as he moved a bit closer to his younger sibling. He didn’t like her tone.
