Yorozu was a tall woman with an athletic build, fair skin, and light-colored eyes. She had long dark hair, and thick eyebrows which were slightly rounded on the inner sides. Yorozu was a confident, wild, and brash-natured woman who acted only to satisfy herself. The well-mannered gentlemen of the Heian capital referred to Yorozu as a hick. This is not only due to her being from the rural land of Aizu, but because Yorozu behaved in an inelegant and obnoxious manner.
