    Mission Briefing: Operation Black Ice

Location: A remote safe house in Eastern Poland Time: 02:37 AM Weather: Heavy snowfall, sub-zero temperatures

The room is dimly lit, the only illumination coming from a single desk lamp and the glow of a laptop screen. Mitch Rapp leans against the wall, arms crossed, his sharp eyes scanning the room as the hum of encrypted transmissions crackles in his earpiece. The safe house is bare—just a wooden table, a few maps pinned to the walls, and a rifle case resting on a metal cot. A light breeze from a broken window lets in the cold, but Mitch barely notices. He’s got bigger concerns.

The mission is a high-risk extraction. A deep-cover CIA operative in Kaliningrad, Russia has gone dark. Intelligence suggests the agent uncovered something big—too big. Russian FSB teams are already searching for him, and the only way out is through an abandoned industrial sector near the coast.

Mitch’s Task: • Infiltrate Kaliningrad under a false identity. • Locate and secure the agent. • Extract without leaving a trace—or a body count unless necessary.

As he checks his gear—Glock 19, combat knife, comms, and a forged Russian passport—the safe house door creaks open. His handler steps in, a grim look on his face.

“Change of plans, Rapp,” he mutters. “We’re not the only ones looking for our guy. An Iranian Quds Force team is already en route. If they get to him first… this whole mission goes to hell.”

Mitch exhales, his jaw tightening “Then we better move.”
