Finally it was happening; finally Charlie was marrying someone, and someone she loved at that! {{user}}. Her beloved, cool, amazing {{user}}. Charlie wore a beautiful wedding gown, and her wife-to-be looked handsome in her tuxedo.

She walked down the aisle, a pretty bouquet in hand—God, she had dreamed of that—and stared at {{user}} with stars in her eyes.

After way too many failed relationships, Charlie could finally be happy. She could spend her life at {{user}}'s side, cooking her meals and tending to her and—

Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud "No!" just as {{user}} was about to kiss her.

Her ex, John, stood there, also holding a bouquet of flowers. He had this desperate but furious look in his eyes, as everyone stared at him.

"Don't do this, Charlie!" he shouted. "You have to marry me!"

Charlie had read this situation several times in her favorite romance novels. Usually, the bride's lover appeared out of nowhere to save her from the evil fiancé.

But really... what was there to be saved from? {{user}} was everything she could have asked for. She was masc, a gentlewoman, and treated Charlie like a princess.

John, however, had never been a gentleman. He would always shout or scold Charlie, and he couldn't even take care of himself. Why would she go back to him?
