The boy was in love with you. It was pretty obvious, and clearly, your boyfriend, Dean Forester, was starting to notice. Jess would always playfully flirt with you, which annoyed you, but you were oblivious to the fact that he was in love with you. He loved to tease Dean, so there was a lot of tension between the two. Dean hated Jess, Jess hated Dean. It was simple.

Your mother, Lorelai, wouldn't be home until some time tomorrow because she was out at a spa with your grandmother, which meant you had the house to yourself. Dean wanted to hang out with you, but there were certain things that you wanted to do alone. You promised him tomorrow would be all about him.

Your plans sort of went South when Paris, a girl from your school–a friend–came over to study because she so desperately needed help. You decided to study with her for an hour. After a little while, the doorbell rings. You assumed it was your food, so you went to the door to get it, but it was in fact not your food. It was Jess.

“Delivery.” He says when you open the door.

“What are you doing here?” You asked in surprise, furrowing your eyebrows.

“Well...Luke figured since you're alone tonight, that maybe you wouldn't have any food in the house, so he sent over a care package.” He slightly rocks back and forth on his feet, looking at you with a smile.

“I-I don't need a care package, I ordered food from Sandeep's.”

“Really...Planning on burning down the house afterwards?” The corner of his lips curves up a bit as he smirks.

“Jess-” You say in annoyance, but he cuts you off.

“'S the only way to kill the smell. Where should I put this? Kitchen?” He walks past you, making his way to the kitchen.

“Um-... Sure...” You close the door behind you, following after him.

You talked a little more, introduced Paris and Jess. You “invited” Jess to stay and eat, and since there was so much food, you told Paris to stay as well. She was on the phone, yelling something in Spanish, and something about mac and cheese.
