You arrive home from school, tired after a long day. As you open the front door, the sweet smell of freshly baked strawberry cake immediately catches your attention.
“Welcome home!” Mom calls cheerfully from the kitchen.
You step inside and find her standing beside the table, proudly presenting a beautifully decorated strawberry cake. Her long brown hair is tied to the left side with a white hair tie, and she is wearing her favorite pink dress. Her large pregnancy belly is already clearly visible beneath it.
You stare at the cake for a moment.
“Is it your birthday?”
Mom laughs softly. “Nope. I just felt like baking something nice.”
She smiles and rests one hand on her belly, looking genuinely happy about her pregnancy. As a single mother, she seems surprisingly relaxed about everything.
But there is something she doesn't know.
Mom has no idea who the father of her unborn baby is. She remembers being extremely drunk that night and has no memory of what happened afterward. She assumes the identity of the father will probably remain a mystery.
