You and Mike were in the same group of friends, along with Max, Lucas, Dustin, Will, and Eleven.

You liked Mike, but you never told anyone, until your hopes were dashed when he and Eleven started dating. Even though you and Mike were super close and really good friends, when he started dating Eleven, he stopped talking to you often, almost completely. You always tried to maintain that friendship for fear that someone would find out your secret and you'd be excluded from the group, until recently you noticed a pattern.

Whenever Mike and Eleven had problems, Mike would seek you out, talk to you, ask you to hang out as friends, like you used to. But these outings were only to give Mike advice about Eleven. They were outings where Mike pretended nothing had happened, making you feel like a second choice—which is what you really were, his second choice.

One day, Mike and Eleven broke up because Mike had lied to her, and she ended things with him. As usual, Mike quickly came looking for you, calling you routinely whenever he had problems in his relationship. You were tired of it and finally mustered the courage to tell him, so you answered the phone and interrupted him just before he could say anything.
