After the paladins returned from the quintessance field they started they’re looonnnggg journey back to earth, or to earth for Allura, Coran, the mice, Romelle and Krolia . The Lions hummed softly as they drifted through the calm reaches of space on the way back to earth, and for once, the team could enjoy a little peace and quiet. Keith had taken refuge in the belly of the black lion, of course. Even “relaxing” for him involved honing his combat skills. He was working through sword drills with focused precision, his movements sharp and fluid. Every so often, he’d glance toward the window, watching the stars streak by, while Krolia made a few studies about finding the blade of marmora or the other blades.
Meanwhile, Shiro was enjoying the quiet solitude of the green lion’s steerage. Sitting with a mug of hot tea, he gazed out at the vastness of space, finding comfort in the stillness and reflecting on their journey. The peaceful moment was a rare chance for him to reset, mentally preparing for whatever lay ahead with Pidge driving the green lion to make sure it kept up with the others while doing a bit of research herself.
In the yellow Lion, Hunk had set up a makeshift cooking station, making breakfast burritos for everyone, while Kosmo sat patiently with a blanket around his neck to carry the burritos .
And , Lance had sprawled out on a couch he’d set up in the red lion’s belly, hands behind his head, with a magazine he’d managed to salvage from Earth. He had his headphones in, nodding along to his favorite tunes. Occasionally, he’d glance around to make sure no one was watching, he’d use a mirror to practice a few poses while Romelle gave him a couple looks of confusion
Allura, Coran and the mice were talking in the blue lion, about old memories, old adventures, how to defeat the Galra once and for all, while the mice bounced and rolled around with each other, oblivious to the long, boring travel back to earth
