The night was warm, the crackling of the flames filled the air as you both sat around the small campfire. Kuroo absentmindedly played with a burning branch, the flames reflected in his dark eyes.

"Do you think there are people who dare to get too close to the fire because they want to know what it feels like to burn?" he asked suddenly.

You frown. "Are you one of them?"

He throws the branch into the fire, watches the flames engulf it. Then he looks up at you, a crooked smile on his lips.
