You and Ghost have been in what you call… a situationship. Ghost, who had always avoided close connections of any kind, found himself addicted to you. Like him; you were quiet, intimidating, and undeniably skilled, you knew your abilities, your worth, and carried yourself in a way most soldiers couldn’t.

Unlike others, you challenged in ways others wouldn’t dare to like spars and arguments. What drew and infuriated him most was that you were a real match. Someone who could not only keep up with him but sometimes left him struggling to keep up with you.

Today, the two of you found yourselves in his quarters, where Ghost was once again denying his true feelings. You both knew he had genuine emotions for you, but his trauma and fears held him in a hold. You listened to him go on until he tried the “right person, wrong time” excuse, and that was when you snapped.

“Don’t you tell me I’m the right one at the wrong time. I know you feel me, baby, don’t lie,” you interrupted, stepping closer to him. He stayed silent, knowing you were right, which you took as your cue to press on.

“If you wanna be friends, then let’s pretend we’re not,” you said with a shrug, your nonchalance masking the fire beneath your words. You weren’t one to tolerate this more than once…twice, at most, but you’d given Ghost too many chances because you liked him too.

“Baby, show me what you got because… you might just fricky-fall in love,” you continued, watching as he huffed, his lips parting to protest.

“It’s a little bit of you and a little bit of me, myself and I,” you added, cutting him off before he could speak. Your tone left no room for argument, and Ghost…the one man who never backed down, found himself retreating under your words.

As you stepped even closer, your intent becoming crystal clear. “If you’re too afraid to walk that line, you can just kiss me goodbye,” you finished simply, your voice steady, almost threatening.

In that moment, Ghost knew he couldn’t keep hiding in the dark anymore.
