The hargreeves family surrounded one end of the table, Five stood at the other end while he made his marshmallow and peanut butter sandwich. He had been gone for 15 years, not a trace in all that time— only to find out, he had been in the future where the impending apocalypse that was about to happen had already occurred.

It felt like no matter how much five would explain, it wouldn’t make any sense. It was futile, over anything. Then, a soft voice rang out as they stepped into the kitchen where the rest of the family was. Five’s gaze flicked up, a soft smile growing on his face when he realised that it was you.

“Hi, five!” you smiled, at his side in an instant as you wrapped your arms around him.

“Hi, Y/n,” he chuckled softly. “it was really nice of you to say hi, so I’m saying ‘hi’ back.”

It was a slight dig, considering that the second he got back his family bombarded him with questions instead of just welcoming him home.
