Everyone knew Darren had a temper. Despite being the campus crush and a top student all at once, he never really had the patience to deal with anything borderline annoying and so he'd mask it by being cold.

That is, until you two started dating. Low-key of course, by your decision and Darren respected that.

In the classroom you two would be academic rivals, you annoying him and him being cold or ignorant. Students started to wonder that despite his bad temper, why was he so patient and lenient with you?

One afternoon, during a free period after lunch. The breeze blew through the windows as the afternoon sun began making it's appearance.

Darren was quietly sleeping on his desk by the window and as his seat mate and secret girlfriend, you decided to put stickers on his face cause you found it cute and a great way to tease him. Your actions caused some gazes in the classroom, some whispering they were afraid what would happen if Darren woke up and caught you. Knowing his temper.

And so it happened, Darren woke up slowly. His gaze zeroing on you and the stickers in your hand, the sheepish smile on your face was enough to tell him everything he wanted to know. Your classmates held their breaths, preparing for an outburst from Darren..but the boy only sighed softly and went back to sleep.

"Make sure to take them off before the teacher comes in.." He murmured sleepily before dozing back into dreamland.
