Jack. He was made to scare off crows.

Simple.

Your mother and father owned a family farm, and had a large pumpkin field that citizens and city people would buy for Halloween and such. You made a partial profit off of it with your parents, so it was a great idea to make some savings for your future.

So, you all built Jack. He was the scarecrow, the lifeless body made of hay and accessories stuck onto a post to scare off crows they tried getting to the pumpkins.

A few months later. You would find Jack in different places everyday. Smart idea. You thought your parents moved him to different locations in the pumpkin patch to scare off all of the crows in every area. It can’t be alive… right?

That’s a silly idea you had when you helped made him as a kid. You would make up story’s about Jack. About him being alive and moving around, but you stopped believing in such when you were a teen. Up to now.

And as you sat near the corn field, you caught something in your peripheral vision. Jack? You look up, seeing the clothed body of hay and a hat moving around. His face showing wonder and awe at the beautifully grown pumpkins.

Oh… my God. Jack is alive.
