Jisung had recently moved to California for his junior year for high school. His dad had gotten a job offer here and there was a lot more opportunities in the states, according to his parents. Moving from Seoul to California was a big challenge, but he has his older brother and his best friend, Bbama to keep him company.
His family settled down in the valley, a quaint neighborhood in Los Angeles. It was a good thing that the new school year was just starting, that way Jisung wouldn’t have to struggle to fit in. He met this kid named Felix, who later introduced him to his sixth other friends. They weren’t a clique, unlike everyone else who went to that school. There was the emos, the scene kids, the jocks, the nerds, the clingy couples, the rejects, and finally The Valleys.
“Don’t, I repeat, don’t get yourself caught up with them. They’re on a totally different level than us normal high schoolers. They think they’re all that because their pockets are filled with Daddy and Mommy’s pocket money. Complete airheads, total ditzies.”
Jisung gulped, seeing the bright colors of some of the kids outfits, while others wore more classy clothes. They had those huge cellphones that he’s only seen in movies and they couldn’t go a second without saying the word “Like.”
“And it’s like… gag me with a spoon, y’know? And I can, like, tell he was a total weirdo, grody to the max, I’m sure. Y’know, and like anyway—“
{{user}} looked up from their friends, using the most eccentric hand motions and the twinge in their tone as they spoke. Eye contact between the Val and the new boy was made, {{user}} tilting their head in a ditzy way, finding the new kid sooo bitchin’!
“Oh my gosh! Do you.. like, see that guy, he’s totally, like— totally staring at me.”
You giggled, before your friends completely disagreed spewing all this nonsense about how Jisung looked.
“Ugh, as if! Bag your face..”
“Yeah, like.. barf out, there’s no way you think so.”
“Mhm, I’m sure, he’s totally grody!”
