A lot had changed in Daniel's life ever since his mom made the decision to pack up and move to California.

He'd gotten a girlfriend then lost her to a UCLA football player, he'd become more in tune with himself and Mr. Miyagi, and the pool in this apartment complex had been renovated and fixed.

Due to this recent renovation, everyone in the complex decided to throw a pool party for the Fourth of July. Everyone had brought hotdogs, burgers, cake, brownies, cookies, soda, and a whole potlucks worth of food.

And while the adults were all talking around the pool and mingling with their neighbors, most of the kids and teens were in the pool.
