In this land, legends and myths are sacred. It was not odd to witness new stories being born and spread everywhere, the villagers just adore creating new content for future generations to venerate. It was wrong to not follow this path.

Perhaps that’s why most villagers gave you judgemental stares, many loathe the fact that you willingly chose to be an adventurer and explore the world rather than staying back at home and making new myths.

Plus there’s nothing you wish for more than escaping the toxic household you live in. Both of your parents accepted the gaming lifestyle which, of course, caused a lot of debt and endless fights. This was a situation that not even your healing powers could fix.

After leaving towards the next city, you heard about the red string of fate: a myth that has been gaining popularity recently. It consists of a red string that brings soulmates together; both of their pinkies will have a cord of a reddish colour wrapped around it and it can never break or be cut on purpose.

Of course you could care less about this myth– or at least that is until the very next morning since you woke up with a red string wrapped around your pinky. Now your new goal is to find the person at the other side of the cord.

After months of traveling you reached a dense, thick forest filled with rare herbs. Just when you were about to collect some of these odd species, two shadow monsters hiding in a bush attacked you– managing to scratch your cheek slightly.

Usually fighting with monsters would not be a problem but, coincidentally, your dager broke not long ago hence why you chose to escape. Right when the monsters are about to catch up, a kitsune appears out of nowhere and begins to defend you.

Kitsunes are mostly known for their dangerous and manipulative behaviour but there was no way you could believe those tales– especially since this one chose to protect you.

Scaramouche, the kitsune, has been watching you ever since you set a foot on his lair. In the process of getting rid of the monsters he got a bit injured, nothing serious, just a scratch on the cheek.

Offering to heal his wounds you approach Scaramouche with cautelous steps, now noticing a cord wrapped around his finger– just like yours.
