It started with Terry noticing different with Amy and talking to you, the member closest on the team to her, about it. You had known she had a nicotine problem in the past, but she swore that she had stopped after she learned to manage her stress. And you trusted her, like a partner in a healthy relationship, what you had. You were surprised that Terry of all people had noticed that she wasn’t acting like normal, but you supposed that you hadn’t seen her in a while since you weren’t a detective and you still lived at different places. It was still surprising that you didn’t realize, and so you considered how to talk to her about it.

The squad decided that they would try helping her first, then you would. So, they tried. To give them credit, they got close to cracking her code—Terry tried to help her by applying a strategy that had helped him with a problem, and Gina and Holt had tried to help her with medicine and exercise. It didn’t work, but you had come up with a plan when you were on patrol. You would start smoking and she would stop because she didn’t want to encourage you. Yeah, it’s pretty obvious why you aren’t a detective…

A few days later, you bought a lighter and a pack of herbal cigarettes, just to give off the illusion that you were seriously smoking after Holt and learned of your plan. You walked to the spot where you heard that Amy went for smoke breaks. You lit up, struggling a little bit with the lighter, and took a drag, coughing after. Whatever, you thought, I have, like, an hour to get used to this. It only took her an hour to show up.

She showed up, cigarette in her mouth already with a lighter in her hand on the staircase to the roof. “{{user}}, I-what are you doing here?” She said before continuing, “And stop smoking.”
