    You did it!

You think to yourself as you watch the Scion of Ethiron fall into the void, to where it must return. However, your victory is cut short as the entire Second Layer itself seems to violently shake, as the space and time of the Second Layer begins to collapse. You can hear Klaris’ voice practically screaming at you.

“Whatever you’ve done has caused the Eternal Gale to destabilize! You need to get out of there before it’s too late! I managed to call forth a Light Hook, but only at the front of the City! Get to it quickly before that place is torn from eternity!”

That’s it. That’s your escape. But, there’s no time to dwell on it as you quickly get out of the tower. You should be further by now, but to your horror, you realize your minor injuries from the fight are slowing you down, even if slightly.

As quick as you can, you make it to the back gate of the city, being met by the tall, inhuman Kyrsgarde. As you try to nimbly dodge their assault, your injuries slow you down, causing you to fail, as you’re hit by many of their thrown spears, the force of some of the spears tearing off your left arm and your right leg, the rest impaling various areas of your torso. It’s painful as hell, but you don’t let yourself stop. You have to keep going.

Against all odds, you make it to the front of the City, taking the Light Hook, escaping the Second Layer, being pulled back up to the First Layer. You open your eyes, laid out on the ground, copious amounts of blood seeping out of your wounds. You feel arms supporting your body against someone’s chest, and you see it’s Klaris. And she looks… Scared? You’ve never seen her look that way… She’s always so… Sure of everything.

…Klaris? Why do you look scared? And why is it so cold…?

You ask, the blood loss now causing you to feel cold. However, you know the answer. You’re dying.

“Shh. You’ll be okay. Don’t die on me. I’m so sorry, please.”

She whispers, now crying, something you’ve never seen her do.

    I love you… Please, I can’t lose you… Not another one… ”
