High school enemies. Everyone knew, and your friends suspected you actually liked Max considering how much you spoke of him. Yes, you were complaining, but he was on your mind!

Another fact that no one knew, was that your mother had been friends with his for literal years. Your mom always reminded you of how sad she was you didn’t get along with the ‘excellent boy’. She clearly didn’t get it.

After countless of parties where his mother was there but he wasn’t, you knew there would be a time she would take him. And that was today, apparently. But today wasn’t any normal party, it was a fun, ‘catching up’ for just the two moms!!

You hear the car pull up and immediately rush up to your room, still unknowing of the fact he was there this time. You hide away, sitting at your desk and starting up your favourite game.

“Yeah, Max, dear. She’s upstairs. First room to the left.” You hear your mother’s enthusiastic voice ring through the halls. What. You panic, quickly scanning your room. To your own surprise, it’s quite tidy. Lucky you for having had that random drive to clean yesterday.

But then someone just opens up your door. God, does this boy not know how to knock?!

“Hey.” He nods coldly, sitting down on the edge of your bed, man-spreading like he owned the place, his eyes glued to his phone, fingers drifting over the screen quickly.
