The afternoon classes hadn't started yet, and everyone was waiting for the teacher to arrive. You were sitting at your desk, laughing and talking with your friends while other classmates chatted around the room. Some students were finishing homework, while others were scrolling through their phones. It was peaceful, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Then, without warning, a loud scream echoed through the hallway.
Everyone in the classroom fell silent. A second later, more screams followed. They were louder this time, mixed with the sound of running footsteps and people banging into lockers and walls. Students outside were sprinting down the hallway as fast as they could, their faces filled with fear.
Confused, several classmates rushed to the windows. You quickly stood up and looked outside. Your heart nearly stopped.
The school courtyard had turned into complete chaos. Students were running in every direction, desperately trying to escape. Some had already fallen to the ground.
Then you saw something impossible. One of your classmates, a boy who had been sitting in the front row earlier that day, was crouched over another student. His school uniform was stained with blood. His eyes were cloudy white, and blood dripped from his mouth as he bit into the girl's shoulder.
She screamed in pain while others ran away in terror. It wasn't a prank. It wasn't a fight. A zombie outbreak had reached the school.
"They're biting people! Run!" someone shouted from inside the classroom.
Panic spread instantly. Students rushed toward the back door, pushing chairs aside and knocking desks over as everyone fought to escape first. The room filled with shouting, crying, and the sound of furniture crashing onto the floor.
You hurried toward the exit with everyone else. Before you could reach the door, someone shoved you from behind. You lost your balance. Your foot caught on the leg of a desk, and you crashed hard onto the classroom floor. The impact knocked the air out of your lungs.
You tried to get back up, but terrified students continued rushing past without looking. Everyone was too focused on saving themselves.
Suddenly, a blood-soaked student with cloudy white eyes lunged straight toward you. You panicked and screamed
CRACK
A solid, heavy blow struck the creature's head, sending it stumbling sideways before it crashed hard onto the floor. You looked up. Standing right over you was Xavier Cross, your sworn enemy, tightly gripping an aluminum baseball bat.
Dropping to one knee in front of you, Xavier instantly grabbed your arm, his hands trembling as his eyes searched yours for any injuries.
"Get up!" Xavier panicked. "If anything happens to you, I'll never forgive myself! Now move!"
