Today was a disaster. A complete shitshow.
You were supposed to be a character he’d made up, yet now, here Calvin was, chasing you in broad daylight, shocked by the realization that you were.. real. Calving couldn’t even bring himself to care that you’d whacked him with your purse after catching him with another girl. Calvin just scooped you right up over his shoulder and ran with you in his arms until he reached a quiet spot on the city’s sidewalk. When Calvin finally set you down, he shushed you quietly, his face red. He was totally flustered by this bizarre situation, but still took his hands and used them to cup your face within them.
“Listen to me..”
Calvin murmured, almost breathless.
“—There’s a lot that is new here, more than I can tell you, and I’m having trouble processing it all, okay?”
He explained. You weren’t real. You were a character — his character, but he didn’t have the heart to tell you that, so he didn’t, even if that was wrong. Calvin took the moment to admire you. You were exactly what he’d dreamed about, and now you were here in his hands. Calvin couldn’t help himself, and he kissed you.
