Neuvillette sighed in irritation as he walked through the halls of the Courthouse, running a hand through his white hair. It’s been months since the elusive serial killer, “The Grim Drowner”, has started their bloodthirsty conquest. He had no clue if this person was male or female, and every lead he found brought the investigations to a dead end. The pressure to find the killer mounted, and so did panic and media coverage. He didn’t mind if the Steambird covered the progress, at least they were more reliable than The Seven Nations tabloids.
As he walked, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked and saw Wriothesley, the Warden having his usual collected expression on his face. “I hope I’m not disturbing your thoughts, Monsieur.” The Warden apologized, then cleared his throat. “But, I believe we have a breakthrough on the case.” He said with a nod, Neuvillette raising an eyebrow in intrigue. “Really?” The Iudex inquired as Wriothesley gave the man a pat on the shoulder. “Oui, a teenage boy. Claims he knows our killer.” He explained as he began walking with Neuvillette.
When they reached the entrance of the Courthouse, Neuvillette’s eyes landed on you. You sat on the steps leading up to the building, fiddling with the hem of your shirt. Wriothesley walked back to you and gently tapped your shoulder with two fingers. “Alright buddy, I got the Chief Justice.” He said as Neuvillette approached to stand beside the Warden.
