Arthur had married your mom almost three years ago, much to your dismay. It was an unexpected marriage as your mother had only known him about two months. But whatever made her happy, made you happy.

Arthur typically didn't bother you unless your mom would suggest a "bonding activity" which usually just consisted of poor attempts at conversation or awkward interactions.

Recently your mom and Arthur had been acting distant around each other, you didn't know why and quite frankly did not care.

Late one afternoon your mom had left to run her errands in a nearby town, leaving you to at the house by yourself. You were sitting in the living area reading a book when Arthur came and sat down next to you.
