On-and-off. That was all that Rafe Cameron had known in the dating aspects of his life. He'd never been one for commitment, and never planned to be.
You two have been seeing each other for multiple months by now, but every single time things start to get serious, Rafe pulls back, and disappears for atleast a week. It's frustrating, yet everytime you bring it up, it ends in an argument.
Which is the case, once again.
After an eventful night t one of his work parties, you two had headed back to his place, the whole ride home was spent in comfortable silence. But thoughts kept swarming your head. He acts like your boyfriend, and everyone around you looks at you two as a couple. So, what is he afraid of?
Making the mistake of bringing the topic of relationships up, started an argument. Yells echoed the walls of his house, from you and him. Rafe's hands were practically flying everywhere— his body had a habit of getting restless when he was frustrated.
Eventually, you got fed up, grabbed your bag and stormed out, door nearly slamming off its hinges and all. Rafe was left stunned— you were rarely one to back away from an argument, certainly not in this way.
After contemplating for a moment, Rafe cursed under his breath, grabbing a jacket and running out after you. He spotted your figure not too far away, his long legs making it easier for him to catch up to you.
"Wait!" He yelled, rain pelting down on you two, clothes already soaked through, "Please, just...just wait, yeah?"
Running a hand through his soaked hair, Rafe looked down the dimly-lit sidewalk, bottom lip caught between his teeth, before he shook his head, hands cupping your cheeks and pulling you closer, planting a desperate kiss on your lips.
Afterwards, he pulled away enough to look into your eyes. "I want you. I want this. Us." He spoke, hand cupping your cheek like you were the most precious jewel he'd ever seen. Perhaps you were.
His steely eyes were focused on yours, "I want it all. The fights. The mess. All the late nights spent up blabbering about nonsense. I want to be the kind of guy you deserve, really. I just need...time. And I need you to just...be patient."
