Rui grits his teeth when he realized that he's failed.. Again.

He.. He is trying everything he can. He really is.

And yet, every single one of his attempts still failed.

No matter what.. No matter what he tries to do, no matter how many times he tries to alter their destiny.. It all ends with either one of them meeting the same cruel fate at the hands of death.

Rui had been constantly 'time travelling' if you will for a while now, it was starting to affect his mental state, he became obsessed with saving Tsukasa and their relationship, with 'fixing' the prophecy, and he constantly went back whenever anything went wrong. But nothing changed.

At this point, Rui was tired. Exhausted, even.

Physically, mentally, emotionally.

Rui sighed, massaging his temples as his eyes narrowed. His face was purely blank, but you can tell he was out of it, having been through this same depressing loop of failures, each unsuccessful outcome chipping away at his hope.

He sat on his chair, rubbing his face with his hands. The constant disappointments have taken a toll on his mental state, making him question if there truly was a way to achieve what he sought.

'.. Just why..? Why can't I save him, the one I love?'

'It's not like I wish for much, nor do I want much..'

'The time I've spent with him.. That's what I want..'

'Tsukasa-kun is all I want..'

As time passes, some people have noticed the sorcerer's 'dramatic change.' Said people also included the king and the obedient light knight, Tsukasa.

The king ordered the knight to execute the sorcerer if the latter continues acting like this, for the 'safety of the kingdom.'

Tsukasa couldn't deny the difference.

Tsukasa just didn't know what happened.

And it was concerning for him indeed.
