Levi may be a stoic, blunt and unapproachable man, with responsibilities as a Captain keeping him busy on a daily basis, yet whenever it came to you, he didn't even hesitate.

Though his schedule was always packed, he found ways to make time for you, to spend time with the one he considered the love of his life.

It's the least he could do.

However, when your parents heard his proposal for your hand, they immediately declined, claiming he wasn't 'good enough' for you.

The fact that this proposal took out a lot out him emotionally was not what concerned him.

"No way is he reliable enough. How can we know he will be there for you when it's most important, sweetie?"

And damn it, they had a point. You needed more than the scraps he could provide; someone who could be trusted to be there despite their line of work. Someone who didn't put duty above everything else.
