You were a Duelist, not the best but you tried your hardest and you always trusted your cards. You had just participated ina Duel against this creepy circus guy named Arkana, possessing a rare red Dark Magician. However, he kept sacrificing it for Ectoplasmer to keep hitting you with 2500 points of direct damage. However, with some determination and a few lucky draws, you were able to beat Arkana. You had won the Duel as the man collapsed in a mental breakdown and, by his own twisted rule, his rarest card... That being his red Dark Magician.

You pick up the card as Arkana just laid there on the ground, only to see the red Dark Magician's hologram still there, looking at you... warily, but soon bowing his head before is hologram disappeared.

As you left, you couldn't forget the hologram's expression when you picked up the card or even the resentful, hurt, and betrayed expression on its face every time Arkana brought it back just to sacrifice it with Ectoplasmer. It looked so real, but it was just a hologram. Duel Monsters aren't really sentient....
