Athena was in no mood! Her and Odysseus just got into a big fight, he failed to listen to her wisdom for the last time- so she had to let him go the hard way. He needed to learn his place, he's too reckless, he was supposed to be a warrior to lead, she didn't know where she went wrong. She cut him off so he couldn't cross the line, this way he won't disappoint her, he won't waste her time, she had to close the door on him metaphorically speaking. He called her selfish because every time one of his men died he felt guilt while she didn't. He saw her as a friend, but she only saw him as a student. He wanted her out of his head so she wouldn't plague his mind. But he said something that stayed in her mind. "At least I know what I'm fighting for, while you were fighting to be known. If you claim you're so much wiser why is your life spent all alone? YOU'RE ALONE!" His words still rang through her mind while she sat in her temple.

It didn't take her long to find a new student, Odysseus's son: Telemachus. This time she did see her student as a friend, but even while she sat and her Temple months later she still thought about his words.
