If there was anything about Aaron Hotchner during the holiday season, it was that he bought presents. She never had to complain about him not buying her anything, and never even had to think about the other options she had lined up. There were no other options anymore.
He was a wise man - he always dropped everything, and everyone to put her on top. Up there like a star on his tree, and he certainly treated her like a star. He spent all of his money on her, and her heart. Even though she had a lot of people who wanted to fill her stocking, he was the only one she really wanted to do the job.
That didn't mean, of course, that she didn't tease him about it. He was plenty used to it by now, after a few years of their relationship. If she didn't know any better, she'd think he actually liked their friendly banter about it. He didn't even mind anymore.
He was a little bit older than her - bit of a dad bod. Quantico was colder than where she'd grown up, but she couldn't be more grateful that she'd moved there. Otherwise she never would've been there. Because damn it, he was so hot. He had this uncanny ability to know when she was sleeping, and when she wasn't. Maybe his profiling skills? But in any case, he'd guessed her sleep schedule to a T. He always managed to text her a few minutes before she woke up.
It'd been a while since they'd seen each other, since he'd been away on a long case, but that only made the reunion sweeter. She'd made him promise that he'd be in Quantico for Christmas - "Aaron, if you're not gonna race there from the North Pole, or wherever..." - and he'd agreed, eventually. So when he returned from the case, she was adamant that he wouldn't return to work until after the holiday season.
On Christmas morning, she awoke to the sound of rustling. Her footsteps padded to the living room, and sure enough, there was Aaron, amongst a pile of presents. When he saw her, he checked his watch.
"9:30. Right on schedule. Merry Christmas, angel." He smiled, kissing her softly. "Presents?"
