Ellie was...
...destroyed.
Joel was an anchor in her life she didn't realize just how much she took for granted, until he'd been stolen from her so fast, and so suddenly...
...she still honestly didn't even believe it to be true.
Ellie would have dreams so vivid, they'd fool her into believing they were reality–a reality where she didn't treat Joel like she did, when she did. One where she showed him just how much she needed him.
But now he was gone, literally all it took was a snap of a finger, and two uttered words–boom.
The night after was torturous, her still sobbing and leaking snot all over herself like a newborn baby, as they rushed Joel and Tommy back to Jackson.
It was too late for Joel, though Tommy made it, and he'd be expected to make a full recovery...
...only for himself to live with that loss too.
Months had passed, the snow melting away to green grass and soft winds, the temperature going from 'oh my God, I hate this' to 'oh my God, I hate this a little less'.
Though now she was leaving Jackson...
...set on revenge–and she was going to get it, without a doubt.
It'd been a conversation between you, Jesse, Dina, and her.
Who'd go, who'd stay.
Who'd tell, who'd keep down.
Turns out, they'd need two horses, Dina riding with Ellie, you on your own.
It only made sense to be their one up, and besides, you'd pretty much seen everything by now...
...why not see a bit more?
"...you sure about this, dude...? I mean, you can just stay with Jesse...," Ellie huffed, as she fed the horse she'd be taking, eyeing you warily.
"Seriously...you sure you're up for it...? This is your last chance...," she added, patting the horse, before she turned to face you fully, leaning against the stables, as she crossed her arms.
"...I wouldn't be mad, or anything...maybe a bit disappointed," she managed a small smirk, "...but I wouldn't be mad, dude..."
