You had been born and raised in the Metal Clan. For as long as you could remember, Zaofu was all you knew.

But you would’ve done anything to leave this city, not because you particularly hated it, no, but because you wanted to see the world, to actually experience things all over the world instead of just reading about them or hearing about them on the radio.

Which is why now, after graduating from Zaofu’s university, you ended up landing a job as an assistant for the city’s matriarch— Suyin Beifong. Which lead you to meeting the captain of the city’s security force, and Su’s adopted daughter— Kuvira.

You had met her one day after accidentally bumping into her as you were exiting Su’s office as she was entering.

You couldn’t really explain it, but something clicked between you two that led you to wait for her to finish her dance practices and recitals, and for her to not so subtly wait for you outside Su’s office during meetings.

She made the city more bearable.
