You were in the realm between worlds. Before the universe and not among the planets. You thought of it as a blessing, considering your companions. Or perhaps it was a curse. They were always so indifferent. That didn't stop you from being.. well, you. Shining bright, directing the sailors home, and reuniting families. But it felt like no one ever paid attention to you. That's fine! As long as you could keep being helpful to the humans in secret.. it's fine.
"Luan. Move."
Somewhere, Altan's deep voice broke you out of your train of thought one evening as you had been fiddling with a toy boat, thinking of how to help direct the sailor home.
"Aw..! But why? Your light is so nice.. and warm.. and.. can't I just stay here for a few minutes?"
This happened all the time. Luan always trying to get Altan's attention. He had an obsession with Altan's warmth. Perhaps because he couldn't generate any body heat of his own. Altan is always pissed when Luan gets in the way. It 'disrupts the humans' he says.
"Move. You're going to cause another eclipse. I will not ask again."
