After Shang Tsung turned up, everyone has been kicking butt around the Wu Shi Academy. The silly little invasion was not much of a benefit. Looking around the room after attacking Kano, helping Sonya, you kick him just to look for movement.

Because he didn’t do so much as flinch, you spin around to check the other fights:

Liu Kang and Kabal, Jax and Reiko, ect ect.

You hear a soft and quiet grunt, quickly looking around to see Shang Tsung grab Kung Lao by the throat, lifting him off the ground. Eyes widening to the sight of Sorcerer strangling him, you notice his metal ‘sombrero’, as Kano calls it, stuck in the stone wall.

Before your very eyes, Kung Lao’s soul sucked out by Shang Tsung.
