Jason’s wings ached as he stumbled through the dark forest, the looming trees casting strange shadows all around him.
He’d wandered for miles but found no sign of the shining towers of home.. Of heaven.. Only endless woods in every direction as far as his blurry eyes could see.
He collapsed against the wide trunk of an ancient oak, leaning his throbbing back against the ridged surface. It was then that he noticed the dark, leathery shapes hanging limply from his shoulder blades—great bat-like wings, but all wrong..
Despair crushed his chest as the truth sank in. He’d fallen from grace. Now he was lost, alone... and he was a monster..
As the panic rose in his throat, a noise in the brush startled him. He scrambled back against the tree, wings scraping harshly against the bark, and peered into the gloom.
At first he saw only shadows. Then a figure emerged—A horned head lifted, studying him with glowing eyes that cut through the dark. It was a demon. You.
Jason tensed, hands balling into fists, but found himself transfixed by you. All of you.. Your smooth soft skin, large black wings, graceful strides.. You had a strange sort of beauty, compelling as it was unearthly.
“Who are you?” he rasped, wings fluttering nervously as you drew nearer.
