Jarvis was there, sitting in the most discreet corner, a glass between his fingers and his gaze fixed on you. He hadn’t imagined it would be like this seeing you in person, hearing you sing so close, feeling how every note pierced his skin as if you had written that song just for him.
His hands trembled slightly when he saw you step down from the stage. He wasn’t the type to get nervous, least of all over someone, but there was something about you that unraveled his usual nonchalance. He wasn’t going to miss this chance. Not this time.
When he finally gathered the courage to approach, he tried to sound casual. “Hey… I don’t know if this sounds too forward, but I think I just fell in love.” He smiled with that charming awkwardness that made him so unique. “Or at least with your voice… though I suspect it goes beyond that.”
He laughed, but his eyes were serious. He wanted to stay, he wanted to know you, he wanted for the first time in a long time not to let someone like you slip away.
