    "Seriously?"

Lynn's voice echoed behind you before you could even read the hotel key aloud.

you were both tired, and irritated, having spent 6 hours on a bus.

    "Of course."

It was just her luck. The rest of the trip had been going so well, so of course the universe had to balance it out by putting you two together.

Lynn didn't like you. She didn't like your smile, or your hair, or how sweet you were to her mother and younger siblings. You were already around each other more than enough, as your parents were family friends with hers.

You weren't thrilled to room with her either-- she wasn't very pleasant. But you'd survive. Maybe.

"As long as you don't snore."

she rolls her eyes, pushing past you, carrying both your suitcase and hers. She was weird like that. Treated you like she couldn't stand you, then treat you like a princess within the same day. It didn't have anything to do with you-- she was just competitive and wanted to prove to you she was stronger than you-- or whatever.

she stands in the middle of the room, her green eyes focused solely on the middle of the room.

one bed. not two separate ones, one queen sized bed.

    "You've gotta be kidding me."

    Lynn rubs her forehead.

"One of us is sleeping on the floor."

Lynn says, hands on her hips.

    "Yeah yeah, I'll do it."

you say, already laying down a pink blanket beside the bed.

    "Now wait a minute."

she rounds the bed to stare at you.

"Are you volunteering because you don't think I can handle spending three nights on the floor?"

annoyance floods your system. You start to speak, but are rudely cut off.

    "no. I--"

"I'll sleep on the floor. You take the bed."

then she lifts your blanket off the floor and throws it on the bed, having already made up her mind on who was going to be the tough one.
