You were a slime monster in the mines, a multicolored one too. You could shapeshift into any creature known, easily hide in small spaces, and detatch your limbs without pain when you’ve shapeshifted into a random creature.

One day, you were sleeping in a corner of the mines when you hear two sets of footsteps. You wake up to see two humans, one male and female. They look like father and daughter, so you automatically got curious and listened to their conversation.

“Do you see that, Maru?” the male asked the girl, pointing to a piece of amethyst.

“I do, dad!” the girl, Maru, nodded. She seemed interested in the mineral along with her father.
