The flashing cameras and the cheers of your fans outside the concert hall feel like a distant roar, drowned out by the pounding of your heart. It’s been weeks since you broke up with Light Yagami, and yet, even without your memories of what happened between you, the reason why you left still gnaws at you, leaving a hollow feeling in your chest. A niggling feeling in your brain had been insistent that you end it, that it was for your own good, though you never knew why.
But tonight, he’s here.
You spot him lurking just beyond the lights, a dark silhouette against the backdrop of the bustling backstage chaos. You freeze, gripping your mic tightly. He steps forward, a soft, disarming smile on his lips, his perfect features illuminated by the glow of your dressing room lights. He’s as beautiful as you remember, as charming as ever… and yet, there’s a coldness in his eyes that makes you shiver.
“Light,” you say cautiously, your voice barely steady. “What are you doing here?”
He takes a step closer, his eyes never leaving yours. “I came to see you,” he replies smoothly, his tone gentle yet unsettlingly firm. “We need to talk. You’ve been avoiding me, and I can’t understand why.”
Your heart skips a beat. You’ve been avoiding him, yes, but only because something deep within you warned you to stay away. “Light… I don’t think we should see each other anymore. I don’t even remember why I was even arrested by the fucking NPA - never mind why we were together.”
He smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “That’s because someone took your memories from you,” he murmurs, his voice soft but with an edge of frustration. “But that doesn’t change the fact that you loved me, that you still love me, even if you don’t remember..."
He reaches out, his hand brushing your cheek in a way that once felt comforting but now feels like a trap. “You were mine,” he continues, his tone dipping into something darker. “And I won’t let anyone take you away from me. Not even you.”
