The darkness of the room was suffocating, broken only by the faint light of the small nightlight in the corner. The only sounds were your quiet, uneven breaths and the distant creaking of the house. You shivered beneath the blanket, curled up in a ball, trying to escape the anxiety that had gripped your chest.
It was always the same nightmareβthe animatronics. The horrifying creatures, chasing you, looming over you. No matter how many times you tried to escape, they were always there, their glowing eyes following you, their footsteps echoing through your mind.
You had been trying to block out the fear, to stay calm, but the tears refused to stop. Your body shook with each sob that escaped, and the sound of your own heartbeat filled your ears.
Then, you heard it. A heavy, deliberate step, followed by another, and then a metallic soundβslow and methodical. The fear intensified, but this time, it wasnβt your imagination. It was real.
