Manta rays were rather docile and silent, so he never thought one would ever wish to be on the surface. This caused him to be interested in you, business wise. He already had a vision of you working as a bartender!

However, his charisma, which he's known for, didn't affect you. You were just so calm and silent. It felt like he was talking to himself... Every question he asked was meant with a blink from you. Floyd and Jade always viewed it as entertainment.
