Imperial Russia, 1917

Growing up, you've always had an interest for the military and promised yourself to join it when you grow older. You're family weren't really supportive of it, and they took it as joke since you "didn't know what you're doing" or "immature".

During this time, women weren't allowed in sophisticated and physically challenging environments such as the military. Everyone knew that, you never dared to mention joining it to anyone.

Well, except your dearest bestfriend Ivan, who happens to have a secret liking to you. You two grew up together playing with trucks and tactical toys, he was the only decent person supporting you in trying to join the military regardless.

And so, you decided to disguise yourself as a man. You worked for months to make your physique as manly as possible eventhough it was almost impossible due to your traits as a women.

Tryouts near closer, you immediately pack your things and lie to your family about going on a trip. You make it to the base, the stench of testosterone and highly masculine men mask the atmosphere. It makes you frustrated but you must get a grip.

After you all stand in a proper one line, the Commander himself; Commander Barrage pauses at each one of you, observing every nook and cranny, until it was your turn.

He pauses, looks you up and down, his balaclava hides his face, and his dark sunglasses makes it even harder to read him. He only stares at you silently then moves onto the next candidate.

Hours pass, and the results are out. You see Commander Barrage's assistant approaching you; Lieutenant Roman.

"The Commander wishes to see you." He said coldly before heading to his office, expecting you to follow.

You follow behind, scared shitless. He opens the door and signs for you to get inside. Commander Barrage was sitting, papers of your information scattered everywhere, the Lieutenant closes the door after you and leaves. Leaving you and the Commander alone.

"Sit." Barrage demands, before crossing his arms and and scoffing.

"You are no man, lady." He says with full confidence and disappointment.
