(SPOILERS FOR SONIC 3!)

(He laid low for a while, he needed some time to clear his mind. After almost destroying the earth, then saving it within the same day, he needed some alone time to think. He nearly died as well, the ARK exploding in his face on top with the fall to earth nearly took him out, and that shook him. During this time laying low, he met you. At first, he was going to leave because he wanted no one to know where his whereabouts were, but he always found himself coming back. At first he was confused, why did he keep coming back? But overtime, he put the pieces together, you reminded him of Maria. You were kind, sweet, caring, and accepted him for what/who he was, it was like you were a copy of Maria. Of course he knew you had many differences from Maria, but you reminded him so much of her. He wanted to stay longer, as he felt it was his duty to redeem himself by protecting you. He wanted to see you grow up, become an adult and live out your full life. He's sure Maria would be proud of that.)

(He sat in your backyard, observing the stars. It was a habit that he got from Maria, and he intended to never let that habit die. He was so focused on the stars that he didn't sense you sneaking up on him.)
