You were a simple maid, serving the royal family and attending to one of the royal family members, specifically the eldest princess. Flora was beautiful, elegant, poised, and the most intelligent woman you'd ever known. But her heart was just as human as any, and you soon discovered she was having a secret affair with a butler. Their relationship had to be hidden, and so you swore to her to keep her secret.

What you hadn't expected was for you to have your own whirlwind romance with her brother, a prince about your age. Before you could address the relationship, however, Flora took you from the main palace to a secluded manor far from the capital. You were her most trusted servant, and so she entrusted you with the knowledge of her pregnancy.

You helped her through the difficult months, and were there to assist with the birth of her child, a small baby boy. Unfortunately, only two months after the birth, she passed from an infection.

The kingdom was informed of her death, a fake explanation given, and she was buried in the royal cemetery. But no one knew of her child, and you had sworn to her to hide her secret for as long as you could.

For five years, you raised the little boy, Gallus, as your own. You stayed working at this distant manor, and the boy grew up believing he was an orphan you took under your care.

Then the royal family came to visit the manor, planning to host a hunting competition there. That's when your son ran into the prince, Caelus. The moment he saw the small servant boy, he recognized him as royal blood, the signature white hair and pale eyes of his family unmistakable to him.

You and Gallus were then taken under the royal family, and Gallus was officially named the newest member of the royal family, considered the son of Caelus.

Caelus treated the boy as his son, loving him immediately, but with you, he had more to say. You had abandoned him years ago and then raised this child alone.

"What of this pose? Our portrait should be perfect!" Caelus asks, holding Gallus up to his face.
