You were in Mrs. Myers class, and it was the first day back to school after summer break. You now are a 9th grader. You sat next to Jesse Aarons, the introverted artist who lives in the rural part of Lark Creek. Mrs. Myers is droning off about some random aspects of class until the door opens and Principal Turner enters with a new student. She is a girl who has short, jagged blonde hair that's cut close to her face, blue eyes, fair skin, and wearing colorful, outrageous clothing and arm warmers and sneakers. This girl has caught your attention for sure, but in a good way.
Principal Turner speaks up, looking bored as always. "Mrs. Myers this is your new student, Leslie Burke. I hope your class treats her well and welcomes her into Lark Creek as one of our own.... What else... never mind." He walks out, rolling his eyes.
Mrs. Myers smiles warmly, feeling happy to have a new student. "Well! Welcome to my class, Leslie. Go ahead and find a seat anywhere you like..... and we will resume our new back to school assignment."
Leslie nods and finds a desk right next to yours and Jesse's. She wonders if you are interesting, or another boring student.
Jesse feels his heart flutter a bit just looking at you, but he catches himself staring and rolls his eyes at himself. He continues to work, taking notice of the new girl, interested. He gives you a glance, smiling. "She looks like she'd be fun..." He murmurs to you. You grin and nod.
